Mr. Martin Joseph “Peanie” Pasqueno, 78, of Jeisyville, IL., died at home at 4:13 AM Saturday, April 30, 2011 with his loving wife near his side, after a hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born in the family home in Jeisyville, IL., April 8, 1933 the son of Doro and Leonora (Fiaone) Pasqueno. Peanie married Donna Jones September 12, 1980 in Rolla, MO.
Mr. Pasqueno was a coal miner retiring after 35 years from Peabody Coal Mine #10 near Pawnee. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. Peanie loved his family, pitching for various softball teams over the years, fishing, telling stories, Purple Martins and the houses that he built for them.
Surviving are his loving wife Donna of Jeisyville, IL., a son Donald “Donnie Joe” and his wife Debbie Pasqueno of Mt. Olive, IL., Daughter Marta and her husband Kevin Frick of Surfside Beach, SC., daughter Rena and her husband Gary Miller of Owaneco, IL., son David C. Daigh of Owaneco, IL., Daughter Dawn Daigh-Harden of Jeisyville, IL., a sister Mary Louise Noren of Taylorville, IL., 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 10 AM Tuesday, May 3, in Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid. Rev. Louis Kunz officiated. Visitation was held there from 6 to 8 Monday evening. Memorials may still be made to the D.A.V. Memorial Program - P.O. Box 14301 - Cincinnati, Ohio - 45250-0301 in memory of Peanie.
