Mr. Robert Torricelli, 90, of Tovey, IL., passed away at 7:27 am Wednesday, June 6, 2012 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL.
He was born March 30, 1922 in Kincaid, IL the fourth child of Joseph and Virginia (Vignocchi) Torricelli. He married Inez Louise Smith on June 7, 1950 in Taylorville, IL.
Robert was well known and respected for his ability to dance. He and his wife attended dances regularly for nearly 30 years in various locations throughout central Illinois. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, exercising and being outdoors. Mr. Torricelli was a WW II Veteran. He worked as an Electrical Technician at Sangamo Electric and later at Peabody Mine #10 before his retirement.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years Inez of Tovey, IL. 3 sons Tom Mario Torricelli of Springfield, IL. Dr. Michael Reno Torricelli and wife Dr. Glenda Reed Torricelli of San Diego, CA. John Robert and his wife Karen Torricelli of Springfield, IL. 3 grandchildren Andrew Mario Torricelli Undergraduate Student at UCLA, Audrey Virginia Torricelli Undergraduate Student at New York University and Emily Jane Torricelli of Springfield, IL. brother Dr. John and his wife Kathleen Torricelli of CA and sister Wanda and husband Kenneth Melvin of Taylorville, IL. along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents, and 6 brothers Mario, Fred, Joseph, Dr. William, Reno and Dr. James Torricelli.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 9, 2012 in Masterson Funeral Home, Kincaid. Deacon Ray Roth will officiate. Visitation was held one hour before the service at Mastersons. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Memorials may be made to Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

Dear Inez, We were so sorry to hear about Bob. Jim and I thought the world of him and you. Jim considered Bob not only as a good friend but a mentor of many thing including family, God and politics. Many hours were spent at #10 discussing so many things. We know you will miss him terribly. Bob never failed to ask about our kids whenever we saw you two. So sorry we missed the service.
